Wildwood by Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis

It is a perfect fall afternoon, so Prue and her little brother Mac decide to enjoy it at the park.  All is well until Prue spots a flock (Or murder, if you prefer) of crows in the distance, coming closer to her and Mac every second. The crows swoop down and snatch Mac away, soaring over to the Impassable Wilderness.  Prue decides to bring Curtis, one of her classmates, with her to descend into the Impassable Wilderness and to reunite with Mac. Unfortunately soon after Prue and Curtis reach the forest, Curtis is snatched by coyote soldiers. In the coyote's hideout Curtis learns that the Dowager Governess plans to sacrifice Mac to the ivy, a plant that destroys everything in it's path!  Will Curtis and Prue be able to save Mac and the country of Wildwood?  Find out in Wildwood: The Wildwood Chronicles, Book I

After saving the world from the god of evil, Set, a few weeks ago Sadie and Carter Kane are assigned for another world saving challenge.  Apophis, the god of chaos is breaking free from his prison after thousands of years of being locked up, and he plans to rid the world of order and have chaos rule. Unfortunately, the only one strong enough to battle Apophis is Ra, the god of order, but no one has seen Ra for many years.  So the obvious thing to do would be to go to those who have experience on saving the world, and that happens to be the Kanes.  Sadie and Carter, accompanied by Bes, the dwarf god, must find Ra to put Apophis back in place.  But can they do it in only five days?  Find out in The Throne of Fire!

Something has been awoken deep beneath the hallways of Pordunce Elementary.  Man or monster, nobody knows, and its up to Hashbrown Winters and his friends to find out what it is!  Catching a ghost may seem like a long and dangerous adventure, but Hashbrown only has three days to capture the ghost, and find two very special hamsters or his treehouse is history! On top of all his problems, Bubblegum     (an honorary member of the club) is moving in two weeks! Plus Hashbrown has most likely met his match in marbles when all-star player Melanie 'Thumbs' arrives at Pordunce.  Hashbrown dislikes Thumbs and highly suspects her and her little brother, Nugget, of being the Phantoms of Pordunce (the ghost we talked about earlier).  Will Hashbrown catch the ghost?  Or will Hashbrown's treehouse be destroyed?  All your questions can be answered in Hashbrown Winters and the Phantom of Pordunce!

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

Jason wakes up on a school bus and finds he has no memory.  No memories of Leo and Piper (his supposedly best friends), and no memory of why he was on the school bus in the first place.   Jason learns that he is on the bus for a class field trip to the Grand Canyon, which is perfectly normal. Wrong. Things get weirder when their P.E. teacher is taken by a whole bunch of monsterous venti (Wind Spirits)  When a rescue party comes flying in, (literally flying) Piper, Leo, and Jason demand  answers.  In return they are taken to camp half-blood, where they are informed they all are really half-human, half-greek god. They find out that Jason's memory was stolen by Hera, queen of heaven.  In return for the memories Jason, Piper, and Leo must go on a quest for Hera, to rescue her and stop the Giant King. Will the quest be too dangerous? Will any of them survive? Or will the Giant King destroy the world?

The Lost Hero is an action-packed adventure story.  Authored by Rick Riordan, who is a favorite of mine.  And after you read The Lost Hero, he'll be your favorite too.

A Door in the Woods (The Jimmy Fincher Saga: Book One) by James Dashner

This whole story starts with a door, a door lying on the floor of the forest.  There are many trying to get to that door because behind it is a power that can destroy our world, and others.  It's up to Jimmy Fincher to stop them.  Jimmy Fincher used to be a normal kid, then he got kidnapped by a bunch of monsters and was told that they were going to get the power behind the door.  With that power they would combine our world with theirs.  And that would be bad.  Jimmy knew he had to stop the monsters but would he be able to?  Would he find the courage to enter the door for himself?

A Door in the Woods is the bomb. I read it in one day it was so good. I know you'll enjoy James Dashner's writing as much as I do.
